After his friend and colleague went missing during King Tristian’s murder, First Knight Kegan Finn became the Master at Arms for Her Majesty’s First Knight Brigade. Three years later during a surprise incursion of the army, Sir Kegan, along with Sir James and Dame Jethina are among the only knights left, who were not killed or captured, after a rogue captain attacked the palace during a coup. Sir Kegan and his Brigadiers must protect Queen Collette, and her family; the Queen Mother, thirteen-year-old Prince David, and three-year-old Princess Vera, from the violent and vicious insurgents who will hunt them down whether they are protected by the church, on the run, or fleeing to the off-world mining colony of Cag.
